Painted from a photograph taken in Flixton Village. This cottage was built in 1672, and is one of the best known properties in the district.
Judging from the timber section, and coincidental slight roof changes at the ends I would guess the original timber frame cottage
was extended at both ends in brick some time later. I have not used artistic licence, the trees do frame this aspect as shown.
