Nearly there! The background areas seen through the two archways have been completed, and all the larger areas of shading. This
particular subject has lots of fine line shadow in the stonework, which is best put in with a sharp point of a soft pencil to give
crispness. This will be the last stage so the next picture will be the completed painting with a mount round it to define the edge.
